You’ve seen the ads on TV devoted to preventing teenage smoking. Some of these ads are very direct about what smoking will do to you, and others expose how the tobacco industry seems to target teenagers. It makes sense to me. I also understand why the tobacco companies don’t want to admit it. Teen smoking is a huge issue because it often leads to a lifetime of smoking. This certainly isn’t anything we want for our kids.

The best way to stop teenage smoking is to not smoke yourself. Another way is to make sure that you talk to your children about teen smoking as early as you can. If you are a smoker yourself, they’ll probably call you a hypocrite. There is a lot of truth to this statement, and that is why it is important that you stop smoking. If you are a smoker, and you want to talk your children about teen smoking, there are many resources on the Internet that can help you. Even if you still smoke yourself, show your children how hard you are trying to stop smoking. This could help get the message across to them hopefully.

Unfortunately when I was a teenager there wasn’t a lot of information on hand about teen smoking. And if the information was available I don’t know if I would have paid much attention to it. Most teenagers think they are invincible and can do anything they want without suffering consequences. I knew that smoking couldn’t be too healthy to do but I didn’t let that stop me from taking the first puff. So when it comes to your children you need to stay in constant communication with them about the issues they may be facing today. Especially if you suspect something is going on. They may not like you for it now but when they are all grown up they will definitely appreciate the time and effort you gave to them.
